The former Yabakei Railway, which carried many tourists during the Taisho era, was an important means of transportation that created the "Yabakei Sightseeing" tour, a Japan Heritage site. Today, you can cycle along the former railway line and slowly admire the scenery that tourists would have seen from the train windows back then. You can also reflect on the thoughts of the tourists of that time while touching upon the railway heritage, and in the Hirata settlement, you can learn about the vision of Hirata Yoshitane, also known as "Yabakei-o," who built the central settlement of Yabakei, and visit the bridges, stations, and post office that still remain from that time.
