Japan Heritage Center Yabakei Folk Museum

The Yabakei Folk Museum Japan Heritage Center originated as the Bakei Library, which housed 10,000 old books collected by Hiroshima-based Sinologist Ono Sakurayama during his travels around the country during the Taisho era.It is currently a facility located within the Yabatopia roadside station.
Currently, the museum has 3205 volumes and over 7800 books, some of which are on display, as well as hanging scrolls and folding screens from Sakurayama's collection. The museum also displays documents related to Zenkai Osho, who spent 30 years completing the tunnel, a magic vision from the novel "Beyond Gratitude and Shame" by the literary master Kikuchi Kan, which is set in the Ao-no-domon, as well as household and farm tools used in this region long ago and archaeological remains unearthed in the former Shimoge district.

Furthermore, as a Japan Heritage Center, we introduce the cultural assets that make up the "Yabakei Sightseeing - Walking the path of a landscape scroll painted on the earth" and the tourist route that allows you to experience the story through photos and videos.
