Notice of lifting of pedestrian road closure on Municipal Road Hida-Nakajima Line (Aonodomon)
Following rockfall damage in November 2024 and a disaster prevention patrol in May 2025, the Nakatsu City Road Hida-Nakajima Line (Aonodomon) was newly designated as a disaster-prone area and had been completely closed to traffic for a long time. However, restoration work on the affected section has now been completed in March, and the road is now open to pedestrians only as of Wednesday, April 1, 2026.
*Due to some restrictions on pedestrian and vehicle access, passage is possible via a detour through the hand-dug tunnel (Sogi side).
Regarding the continuation of road closures for vehicles
Regarding vehicle traffic, a new rockfall was confirmed at a different location in March of this year (2026), so we are currently considering countermeasures from a safety perspective. Therefore,Vehicle traffic remains prohibited.will do.
