The remains of the castle of Kaku Akinokami Motonao, who rebelled against the Kuroda clan.
Attacked by both the Kuroda and Yoshikawa armies, the castle fell in December of Tensho 15 (1587). Tonao fled to the Otomo clan, but was killed by soldiers of the Masu clan on the way.
With the fall of Ohata Castle, the Buzen Rebellion was finally put down.
