About Public Reception Commencement of JTA's "Accommodation Facility Inbound Support Project"

This is an announcement from the Tourism Policy Division of the Tourism Bureau, Commerce, Industry, Tourism and Labor Department, Oita Prefecture.
We are pleased to announce that the above-mentioned subsidy program, which aims to support accommodation facilities in accommodating inbound tourists and making them barrier-free, in order to create an environment in tourist destinations across the country where foreign tourists can stay safely and comfortably, has opened a call for applications as detailed below.
In addition, starting this fiscal year, Oita Prefecture will be implementing the "2024 Oita Prefecture Accommodation Industry Management Strengthening Acceleration Subsidy," which will provide additional support on top of national subsidies to businesses that apply for and are selected for the "Accommodation Facility Barrier-Free Promotion Project."

Japan Tourism Agency "Accommodation Facility Inbound Support Project" *Promotion of Barrier-Free Accommodation Facilities
[Application Period] July 31, 2024 (Wed) - August 30, 2024 (Fri) 17:00
[Eligible expenses] Expenses required to ensure the safety and security of foreign visitors to Japan, including the elderly and people with disabilities, in accommodation facilities by promoting barrier-free access at accommodation facilities operated by accommodation operators.
[Subsidy rate] 1/2
★ With additional subsidies from the prefecture, the wage increase limit will be increased to ① within 2/3 of the normal limit, and ② within 3/4 of the wage increase limit.
[Maximum subsidy amount] For 1 accommodation business 5,000,000 yen
1０ million yen only for accommodation businesses that have signed disaster prevention agreements with local governments
★With additional subsidies from the prefecture, ①Normal limit is 6,500,000 yen or less, ②Wage increase limit is 7,500,000 yen or less
(Disaster prevention agreement: ① Regular limit up to 11,500,000 yen, ② Wage increase limit up to 12,500,000 yen)
